Some of the questions you may have about Cambodia mission trip 2016

Make contact via email, phone or in preson to find out more. Cambodia is a place that has a tragic history, and is now a very poor country with many challenges. While travel is generally safe, there is little modern infrastructure outside the capital city and Siem Reap.

01

Who will look after us in Cambodia?

We travel with a Samaritan's Purse team member from Sydney, and two Samaritan's Purse workers from Cambodia. There will be at least two Pacific Hills staff members for each trip. The itinerary, accomodatioin and land transport are all prepared by Samaritan's Purse. Pacific Hills will organise flights.

02

Is it safe?

Cambodia is a very poor country, but is generally safe for travellers. You will be drinking ONLY bottled water (including teeth cleaning) and eating food supplied by hotels and carefully selected restaurants. Flights are on major global airlines, and transport is in a small bus arranged by Samaritan's Purse. Accomodation will be in hotels. Rural hotels are basic but safe, city hotels are generally of a reasonable standard. The team will be given specific instructions about safe behaviour and travel.

I'm not sure if I can help

We are not looking for experts, but looking to use whatever gifts and abilities you have to serve others. We will work closely with Samaritan's Purse team members, local pastors and local school teachers, and will be doing simple sports, craft, singing, English classes and the like with young children. Everyone can offer their time, good humour and friendliness to bring some encouragement and hope.

05

I think it will be too hard to save up

It is a more expensive trip because of the cost of flights and accomodation. However you will be able to pay the costs in increments to November 2016 so both adults and students can plan around this. If you feel you should be investigating this trip please talk about your financial concerns with Mr Lack.

What would I have to do to get ready?

Consult with your own GP about innoculations. Ensure you have a valid passport current for six months after 25th January 2017. Attend the regular meetings that will be held at school to start planning and preparation, and start planning for fundraising to be able to take gifts to schools and villages. Most importantly complete the applicatioin form!
