Keeping your stuff safe

You may think I am about to tell you to watch out for pick-pockets...but the biggest dramas we have had on Mission were actually because team members were careless. Here are some tips to try tp avoid this.

1) Key documents and ID should be in ONE PLACE. Some people carry a large wallet, others a handbag or should bag. I personally use an "all in one" iPad bag which carries other documents. Whatever you use have all your key documents in this. Don't keep changing where documents are.

2) Keep your passport very, very safe. We can get you on a plane without your ticket just by proving your identity, but you will not be coming home with the team if you don't have a passport.

3) Keep backup photocopies of your Passport ID page, credit card and other key material in a separate place. As an example if you carry your passport with you at all times, have a photocopy in your big bag.

4) Write out a room check so you can be organised and ordered each time you go out in the morning and each time you move hotels. Passport? Check. Money? Check. Camera? Check (and so on).

5) There will NOT be high security in most of the places we stay (no safe in the rooms, for instance). Consequently you need to carry key documents with you, and lock your big bag each day.

6) Just one general note: don't display wealth unneccesarily. Don't wear gold chains, don't flash your big camera about unless actually shooting, don't wave large wads of US Dollars around.
